Pupils on the special needs register have an I. E..P.., which lists their objectives and targets.

 

The ability to measure improvement has been difficult to quantify.

 

BOOSTER PHONICS offers 2 elements which can be used, individually or together, to measure  this improvement.

 

1st is the use of the precision-teaching probe.  This measures the speed at which pupils read words accurately.

 

The 2nd option is the targeted I. E. P. assessments.  For each objective, pupils read 12 words, with their accuracy % recorded.  Doing the assessment again later, will give a measure of improvement over time.
